Create Energy in the Mundane Everyday.

Observation of everyday objects to create joy and play.

My inspiration for this project stemmed from the tactile paving around the v&a, I was heavily influenced by how the paving tiles looked at different times of the day and under different weather conditions. Initially all the photographs looked grey and mundane, however on closer inspection there were so many hues and tones in the patterns of the pavement. Using this ideology of looking closer at everyday settings, I was inspired to pull energy and joy into these paving patterns, this is where the title ‘Creating Energy in the Mundane Everyday’ came from.

Through observation of the paving tiles in all different weather conditions, I was able to see different colour proportions and the hues and tones that arise in the tiling. By slightly exaggerating this observation to curate a vivacious and joyful colour palette, all with the consideration of darks, lights, brights and neutrals to be included as well.
